Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Republic of Armenia pays a visit to "Jaipurfoot" in India



On 25th April 2022, in the framework of an official visit to India, Mr. Narek Mkrtchyan, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Republic of Armenia accompanied by Mr. Rananjay Anand, Co-Founder & President of Indo-Armenian Friendship NGO paid a visit to the facility of Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), Delhi, India. BMVSS is popularly known for its globally recognised "Jaipurfoot". Since inception, BMVSS has rehabilitated more than 1.78 million amputees and polio patients by fitting & providing artificial limbs (Jaipur Foot variety), callipers and other aids and appliances, mostly in India and also in 27 countries across the world.



There was a detailed demonstration of the manufacturing and service procedure presented by the Executive President of BMVSS Delhi, Mr. V R Mehta and his colleague Mr. Tarun Kulshreshtha. It's a follow-up visit by the Minister in order to have a first-hand experience about the manufacturing and services offered by the organization. Indo-Armenian Friendship NGO is currently working on an important project to be realised with the support of the Government of India, for which we sought and being assured of the Ministry's assistance and cooperation.



During the meeting, the sides discussed a number of issues related to the manufacturing technologies, the quality criteria of supporting components and of course the implementation of the prosthesization process.



Based on the outcomes of the deliberations, details of the project will be announced soon.
